Our Mission

Hi everyone! Lauren here, founder of Pit Bull People Co. Now that we’ve launched I wanted to take a moment to share a little more about our brand + our mission. Simply put, I started this company because I love pit bulls. Pit bulls are strong, reliable + stoic. Yet they’re also kind, loyal + goofy. Although we come from all different backgrounds + various walks of life, it takes a certain type of person to give a pit bull a chance. It takes a certain kind of person to muffle the outside noise; to ignore the stereotypes; + to see past the unfair labels that are too often attached to these beautiful animals. Because of this, I’d say that “Pit Bull People” are almost as special as pit bulls themselves. I think it’s about time an apparel brand existed that recognized this. That’s where we come in… to honor you + the unconditional love you share for your pittie friends. What’s our mission you ask? To create a community where pit bull lovers around the country + even around the world can connect. Afterall, part of the joy of having a pit bull is connecting with other “Pit Bull People.”

Keegan is an absolute sweetheart and we are searching for his furever home! Just look at that happy face! Don’t you want to come home to that face every day after work?! Graham | Animal Aid for Vermilion Area | Kaplan, LA
Graham has been at the shelter for 419 days! We adore this big guy and are hoping that this will be his lucky break! Graham is a happy guy and always has a smile on his face. He has a stunning brindle coat that should be seen in person to fully appreciate. He is playful and silly with his human friends. In the past he has tested better with female dogs over male, but we had him out with male dogs this weekend and he did just fine. He backs away from the feral cats in kennels nearby. He has bonded with all our volunteers during the time he has been in the shelter. We love him so much and are desperate to find the perfect home for him. Graham has been neutered thanks to donations to the shelter.Graham can be adopted through Animal Aid for Vermilion Area. He is currently at a rural kill shelter in Kaplan, Louisiana.

Melinda | Animal Aid for Vermilion Area | Kaplan, LA
Meet Melinda! This sweetheart is gorgeous inside and out. Her golden eyes captivate us every time we see her. Melinda did great with the other dogs and even knows a few commands. She needs a little leash work, but she loves treats so teaching her to walk without pulling should be a breeze! We would recommend a home without cats for Melinda. Sweety Melinda passed the touch test with flying colors making her a great addition to any home! Melinda can be adopted through Animal Aid for Vermilion Area. She is currently at a kill shelter in Kaplan, Louisiana.

Cheese | PAWS Atlanta | Atlanta, Georgia
Meet Cheese! Cheese is just over 8.5 years old + has been at the shelter since January of 2021. PAWS Atlanta had the following to say about this sweet gal: “Cheese is one of our very rare smiling wiggle-bottom unicorns. Perhaps you may know the type. If you even glance in her direction, Cheese turns into a puddle of Jello.
She wakes up every morning with that perennial smile, hoping today will be the day someone will pick her. We ache for this girl to find her home, because she's been steadily overlooked for months + months + we don't know why!
Cheese is technically a senior but she doesn't act like one. She is joyful + playful + adores going out for walks in the sunshine + fresh air. She knows all her basic skills + will gladly sit + pose for photos, especially if you slip her a few tiny treats. On leash, she walks right beside you + seems excited just to be with you. She makes friends easily + carries herself like a happy, confident lady.
Cheese's challenge + the reason why she may have spent so long with us, is that she needs to be the only dog in her home. For that reason, we think she'd be a better fit for adults or families with older children.
Cheese is loyal + will stick by your side through whatever life throws at you. She would love to be your ride-or-die. Nothing would make her happier than having a home + a human of her own. If you'd like to meet Cheese, please fill out an adoption application on pawsatlanta.org and we'll get you set up to come out to the shelter + spend time with her.”
